Pretty In Pink!

I'm so excited. Yesterday I got a new digital camera. It's just a point and shoot but I quite like it and best of all it's pink!

M and Reebs are both in the nest this week. They leave on the weekend, M on Sunday and Reebs on Monday. That's all I can say on that subject right now.

Here's a picture taken with my new camera on this evening's walk.

First Day of Summer?!

Today felt like the first day of summer. The sky was blue and the weather was warm, so warm we ran our a/c for the first time this year. I was thankful to have the a/c because M requested lasagna for dinner and making such a dish on a hot and humid day just isn't any fun! So besides making lasagna, I had time to do some laundry and finish the rest of the week's work.

After dinner we went to Sauble Beach and treated ourselves to ice cream from DQ. It was the first evening we didn't need to wear a jacket or warm sweater. Once we had our treats we took a walk along the beach. Here is the beautiful night sky we saw. Looks like we should have another good day tomorrow if the sailor's saying is correct, “Red at the night: sailor's delight.”

As we walked we saw a lot of different sand castles. My favourite one is also my picture of the day! The CD leaning against the side of the castle was appropriately titled 'Sauble Mix'.

It's Monday, so I Best Be Working

Today was the first day in what promises to be quite a busy week. Because it's the end of the month I'm busy editing submissions from my site. Today I worked on the Writing Corner submissions so I was reading stories and poetry most of the day. Boy there are some creative kids out there. I love editing this section! Every e-mail is an original and I love to see what kids are thinking about these days.

The sun was out today and it actually felt like summer. When I took the dogs for their regular noon time walk I found myself looking for shade to walk in to keep cool. Coming up the street and alongside our property I had a lovely surprise. My clematis had its first flower. It put a smile on my face and so I have made it my picture of the day. I hope you like it a much as I do. Isn't God's colour palette wonderful?

This afternoon Reebs and I took a break from work and went to the gym. We both managed to walk/run 3 miles. What a workout! By the time I'm done, I'm pretty pooped but also quite pleased with myself for being able to exert myself like that. I'm sure one day I'll lose a few pounds too.

This evening I went for a walk with a dear friend. There's nothing better than walking and talking and solving a few problems along the way. We walked along the boardwalk down by the lake and surprisingly it was still on the warm side even down there. The setting sun cast a beautiful shimmering reflection on the lake.
