Ah, another long weekend to kick back and relax. This morning, after a leisurely coffee and breakfast Techno Dude and I headed out on our bikes to Hi-Berry Farm to get some corn. Techno Dude says when we see the sign for corn at Hi-Berry that signals the beginning of the end of summer.
Yesterday we noticed that they had updated their highway sign to include sweet corn. They grow some delicious corn. One year we went to the trouble of making creamed corn which we froze and ate over the winter. This became known as 'yummy corn' and the kids would often ask, "Are we having 'yummy corn' for dinner?" Eating it reminded us of summer. I'm trying to talk Techno Dude into making some for this winter... I'll let you know if I have any success.
As you can see from my picture of the day we didn't just buy corn, we also got new potatoes and raspberries.
